A Facility Based on Change

Since the late 70's, companies have been updating their office facilities from desks and credenzas to work stations and modular furniture. The goal was two-fold: create a work area that accommodates the way people work in the present, with a built-in ability to change it as work in the future requires. "A Facility Based on Change" was the concept.

Many years later, offices are still reconfiguring work stations to support new technology and new ways of working. So, you might say, the modular work station idea was good for business. Furthermore, it continues working -  supporting workers, companies and their strategies.

Now, in the industrial sector there is a new flexible concept that responds to the need for change in the energy conservation arena. Light Corp, a lighting manufacturer out of Grand Haven Michigan, has gone one step further than most lighting options. They have designed the first of its kind: a series of high bay energy efficient lights, with a wireless control system. With this combination, factories, warehouses, and convention centers can realize even more energy savings.

With energy efficient lighting + wireless control capabilities, companies can meet their current lighting needs, with the added advantage of total flexibility to change the lighting any time they want.  In addition, the software that runs the system is web-based and allows changes to be made from anywhere.  And when their industry requires future changes, as is needed in the changing global economy, companies moves, adds, and changes can me met with virtually no cost.

Responsiveness to our business sectors and our customers is now. Using solutions that give us a platform for change, allows us to build competitive companies in the United States. The USA continues to be one of the strongest manufacturing bases in the world. Keeping these organizations as cost effective as possible is imperative. In addition, reducing our carbon footprint at the same time is just an added advantage.

A facility based on change, what a concept. Important 30 years ago, still important today.
